Bios - John

John was raised in Madison, New Jersey (The Rose City). He is an Eagle Scout and a long-time student of karate (Shodokan and Isshin Ru). He graduated from Colgate University with a double major (Economics & Political Science) and a minor in Physics (Applied). He has a tendency to overuse parentheses and the third person when writing (see!?).

Financial Modeling and MBA

John started work in financial modeling and programming at Chase Manhattan Bank, ITT Venture Capital, and the FDIC before attending Georgetown University's Graduate School of Management (now McDonough) on scholarship, receiving an MBA in Strategic Planning and Management.

Entrepreneur

After a brief stint with the Motley Fool, he co-founded Leisure Travel Marketing in Old Town (Alexandria, VA) and focused on providing print and online marketing and information technology services to travel agencies across the nation.

PMI-certified IT Project Management Consultant

After negotiating the sale of LTM to a marketing firm in California, John accepted a position at Vector Research, an information technology consulting firm, and has continued as an IT consultant ever since. Currently, John is a PMI-certified Project Manager for Nortel Government Solutions. His client list includes US Treasury, IRS, US Customs and Border Patrol, OPIC, and others.

Personal

John lives with his wife (Eva) and daughter (Abigail) near George Washington's Mount Vernon estate in Alexandria, VA. He served as the President for FOCUSSS, a community service organization affiliated with St. Mary's Church, was a member of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, and until recently served on the Board at Alexandria Volunteer Bureau. He currently pitches for St. Mary's Marauders in the Alexandria Softball League, serves as co-webmaster for the Mount Vernon Yacht Club, is an avid reader and lover of skiing and sailing. He also has a knack at writing somewhat humorless bios.
